acing

Nothing on wheels quite compares to the feeling of acceleration that an ice boat delivers in a puff.  If you are an ice boater you know the feeling.  If you're not, and have a strong heart, you want to know it!

Come to the loft next Thursday evening, February 16th, at 7:00 to become acquainted with the exciting sport of ice boating or to meet with other ice boaters.  The Lake Ronkonkoma Ice Boat Club will have an exciting presentation for us about this super-fast and thrilling sport. There will be experienced skippers to speak with, Ice boats to view and video footage showing us just how fun this exciting sport can be.  This event will be free to the public so please bring your friends and join us for a fun and informative evening centered around sailing.  If you're lucky you may meet someone with boat who might offer you a ride.

Lake Ronkonkoma Ice Boat and Yacht Club

Founded 1923

The Lake Ronkonkoma Ice Boat and Yacht Club was founded in 1923 on the premise of furthering the interest in the sport of ice boating.  Today we still stand by that noble cause with the vision of enjoying the sport to its fullest and inspire others regionally, nationally and internationally to partake in the fun and adventure that sailing on ice can bring.

GLOBAL WARMING ?  HAH....WATER IS ONLY TEMPORARILY THAWED OUT ICE

THINK ICE !

For Current Weather go to    Or Visit  Weather

NEVER go out on the ice alone!      NEVER go out on the ice without ice picks!                     ALWAYS wear creepers!           ASK sailors where the hazards are!
THERE is always thin ice somewhere!
